RBI Grade B Exam Pattern & Selection Procedure 2016– The Reserve Bank of India has declared that for the captioned recruitment for RBI Officer, from Batch Year-2016, in Phase-II online examination, the Paper-III will consist of only one subject i.e. ‘Finance and Management’. The other optional subjects i.e. Economics and Statistics will no longer be available. All other criteria and scheme of selection remain the same.

RBI conducts Grade B officer recruitment exam every year, following a two tier recruitment process and an interview in the end. RBI Grade B Exam Pattern 2016 (Revised)
The RBI Grade B exam pattern consists of three stages: Phase- I, Phase – II Examination and an Interview. Selection will be through ON-LINE Examinations. The online application process starts from September 2016 and will go on for a month. Last date for the payment of fees will be in the month of October 2016. The dates for Phase I and Phase II Examinations will be notified by the RBI soon at their website. However, assuming last year’s format, the examinations will be held in the month of November and December respectively.
RBI Officer Grade B Examination (Phase I)
The phase I of RBI Grade B exam pattern will have objective type questions. The Paper consists tests of:
(i) General Awareness
(ii) English Language
(iii) Quantitative Aptitude
The total time allotted for the paper is 120 minutes. Other detailed information regarding the RBI Grade B exam pattern will be given in an Information Handout. It will be made available for the candidates to download along with the Admission Letter for examination from the RBI website. Candidates appearing for the exam will have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as the aggregate marks prescribed by the board. Those who will be able to secure the minimum marks will be eligible for the next phase of the examination.
RBI Officer Grade B Examination (Phase II)
The Phase-II of RBI Grade B exam pattern will be partially objective and descriptive. Candidates, who are able to secure the minimum marks in phase I, will be eligible for this phase. The RBI Grade B exam pattern consists of three papers as under:
