SC/ TO in DMRC: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation or DMRC is a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of the National capital territory of Delhi.   • Written Test: It is a computer-based test (CBT) comprising two exams (Paper I and Paper II). The first paper consists of objective questions from General Awareness, Logical Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, Decision Making / Problem-Solving and Knowledge of the Discipline/ Trade). Paper-II consists of general English questions to check the language skills of the candidates.
  • Psycho Test (Qualifying): To check the mental aptness of the candidates

Station Controller Job Profile in DMRC: Role and Responsibilities

A Station Controller at DMRC  is primarily responsible for controlling and managing the station operations. They have to supervise the entire situation of a metro station. Some of the responsibilities of an SC are:

  • Efficient working of all station equipment including AFC system, lifts and escalators
  • Revenue Collection

Train Operator Job Profile in DMRC: Role and Responsibilities

The responsibility of a DMRC Train Operator is ensuring smooth controlling, proficiency driving and managing the train in accordance with the Train Control System. They are also in charge of taking care of other aspects too some of which are as follows:

  • Troubleshooting in the train when required
  • Manual Operations (degraded mode) of the train in case of any failure

The job roles of Station Controller/Train Operator in DMRC are interchangeable as per the requirement of the Corporation. It includes

  • Operating Trains, and,
  • Managing Affairs of Metro Stations, Depot Control Centers, Operation Control Centers etc.

Note: The candidates will be allotted work in shifts (including night shift). This job requires the highest standard of medical fitness, including a vision of 6/6.  SC/TOs with diploma or degree in relevant fields can also work as Junior Engineers as per the requirement of DMRC.

SC/ TO in DMRC Salary

The DMRC offers a night allowance of Rs. 1,800 per month based on the number of night duties performed by a station controller. Train Operators (TO) in DMRC get a km-running allowance of approx. Rs. 6,000 per month based on the kilometres they operate the train in a month.

Initial Training

In the beginning, the selected candidates will have to undergo probation for two years, during which they will also be trained. During this time, the candidates will have to take various examinations and clear them.  Depending upon the performance of the candidate, the DMRC can exercise its right to enhance, reduce or terminate the probation period in accordance with the terms & conditions of the offer of appointment.

Refresher Training

After deployment, the employees are offered training at intervals to enhance their skills and knowledge base. It aids the employees to be up-to-date with new and latest technologies, systems or processes. The duration of refresher training depends on the job profile.

Reshuffling Training

The organization lays a lot of emphasis on the concept of multi-skilling.
