Tips to Crack UIIC AO 2016 Last Minute Preparation

United India Insurance will conduct UIIC AO for the recruitment of Administrative Officer (Scale 1) on 12 June 2016. A lot of applicants are set to appear for the written examination. UIIC AO Exam Pattern for Objective Paper

The Exam Structure for UIIC AO Written Examination will differ for Generalist and Specialist Posts. There will be a few common features like total number of questions, marking scheme, total time allotted and number of sections.

For UIIC AO Generalist Post 

The written paper will be be objective MCQ based and will be conducted online. There will be 5 sections with a total of 200 questions carrying 1 mark each.

The total time allotted for solving the entire objective test is 2 Hours (120 Minutes). There will be sectional and overall cutoff.

For UIIC AO Specialist Post 

The written paper will be be objective MCQ based and will be conducted online. There will be 5 sections with a total of 200 questions carrying 1 mark each.

As we can see, the major difference will be in the final section, which is, Professional Knowledge and the number of questions in each. The total time allotted for solving the entire objective test is 2 Hours (120 Minutes). There will be sectional and overall cutoff.

 

UIIC AO Exam Pattern for Objective Paper

The Descriptive Paper will be common for both Generalist and Specialist Posts. Descriptive Questions include Essay Writing and Letter Writing and the total marks for descriptive test is 30.

To qualify in this round, you need to score atleast 15 Marks in you belong to General Category and 13.5 Marks has been set as the official benchmark for SC/ ST Category Candidates. The total time allotted will be 30 Minutes.

For both Generalist and Specialist Profile, there will be 4 sections in common, namely, English Language, Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and General Awareness.

To crack UIIC AO, you need to focus on utilizing your exam time towards areas which you are proficient at. The section-wise last minute preparation tips on how to crack UIIC AO Exam are as follows.

Reasoning Ability 

  • Glance through all questions first. Select the ones based on topics you are most comfortable with.
  • Solving questions in Reasoning Ability which have multiple methods or long answers can be time consuming. You can skip those.
  • Try not to get confused by the language of questions based on Blood Relations and Puzzles.

Quantitative Aptitude

  • You need to dedicate 30% of your total time towards QA Section.
  • Avoid long calculative problems. Try to pick up topics which can be solved with less written work.
  • There should be no guess work. Also, try to revise atleast once since there can be silly mistakes in QA Section.

English Language

  • If Grammar and Vocabulary are not strengths, avoid questions based on Tenses or Sentence Correction.
  • Solve Cloze Test Questions First. They consume less time and are quite easy to solve.
  • Attempt RC based Questions only if you have extra time in your hands.

General Awareness 

  • Get Familiar with Basic Finance and Insurance Terms.
  • Read Current Affairs and Happenings of the Finance and Insurance Sector from the First Two Quarters, which are January to March and April to June.
  • Avoid any sort of Guess Work in this Section.
