SSC Stenographer Grade C and D 2017: Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Examination has been clearly specified in the notification released by Staff Selection Commission. SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Eligibility Criteria 2017 consists of a set of requirements and clauses in terms of age, educational qualification and nationality. Let us have a look at it.
The candidates’ age should be between 18-27 years as on 1 August 2017. The Age relaxation on the Upper Limit has been set as per government rules, regulations and norms.
- SC/ ST: 5 Years
- OBC: 3 Years
- PH: 10 Years
- PH + OBC: 13 Years
- PH + SC/ST: 15 Years
- J&K Domicile: 5 Years
- Ex-Servicemen: Actual period of service rendered in Defense Services + 3 Years
The relaxation will only be applicable if the aspirant has the right credentials/ certificates/ documents for the same.
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India
Educational Qualifications (As on 01.08.2017)
The applicant must have qualified 12th Class or equivalent Qualification from a Recognized Central Board of Secondary Education. You need to produce relevant documents for the same.

SSC Stenographer Selection Procedure 2017
Candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test on the basis of their performance in the Computer Based Examination. Candidates who qualify in the skill test will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of total marks in the Computer Based Examination. The Written Paper will be objective MCQ based. The written exam will be divided into three parts as follows.
- General Intelligence and Reasoning – 50 marks
- General Awareness – 50 marks
- English Language – 100 marks
The question paper will be of Objective Multiple Choice types. Questions will be set in Hindi and English except for Part III.
