SSC JE Notification 2017: The Staff Selection Commission has released an official notification to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of Junior Engineers Group B Non-Gazetted in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quality and Quantity Assurance in Central Government departments.

SSC JE Notification 2017-18: Complete Information

Please keep in mind that the last date for submission of SSC JE 2017 Application Form is November 17, 2017. Below mentioned are the important dates related to the upcoming exam.

 SSC JE 2017 Online Application begins October 21, 2017
 Last Date for submitting SSC JE Application Form online November 17, 2017
 Expected Date for the release of SSC JE Admit Card December, 2017
 Date of Examination (SSC JE 2017: Paper-I) January 5 to 8, 2017

SSC Junior Engineer is a Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted Post and if you are interested in applying for SSC JE 2017 Recruitment, read ahead.

The Recruitment Examination for SSC JE 2017 will be an All India Open Competitive Examination for hiring candidates to the post of Junior Engineer in the field of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying and Contract etc.

  • Junior Engineer (Civil)
  • Junior Engineer (Mechanical)

There has been no clear indication on the post-wise vacancy for SSC JE Recruitment. It may please be noted that the number of vacancies in the organizations has not been finalized. The list of organizations may also undergo a change depending upon vacancies available therein, before processing of results.

Selection Procedure for SSC JE 2017 Recruitment Examination

For the recruitment of Junior Engineers to various government institutes, a candidate needs to crack SSC JE 2017 Recruitment Examination. Some of the essential points related to the selection process for SSC Junior Engineer Recruitment are as follows.

  • SSC JE 2017 Recruitment Examination will comprise  2 Papers – Paper I and Paper II.
  • The candidates who qualify in SSC JE 2017-18 Paper-I will move to the next round i.e. SSC JE Paper-II.
  • Paper I will be conducted online whereas Paper II will be conducted in offline mode.
  • For SSC JE 2017-18 Recruitment, there will be no interview round.
  • The final selection for SSC Junior Engineer Recruitment will be made on the basis of the basis of marks secured in both Paper-I and II.

SSC JE Eligibility Criteria

For Junior Engineer Recruitment, SSC has specified a few guidelines which every SSC JE aspirants need to follow. Failure to comply or fulfill any of the points under SSC JE Eligibility Criteria will result in immediate cancellation of SSC JE Application Form of the candidate.

Nationality  

In order to be eligible for SSC JE Recruitment Examination, a candidate must be either:

  • a citizen of India, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit as on 1st January 2018

Depending on the post you are applying to, the age limit set for SSC JE Recruitment is as follows.

 Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical), Department of Post and Junior  Engineer (Surveying and Contract), MES  18 to 27 years
 Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical), MES  not more than  30 years
Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical), Central Water  Commission and CPWD)  not more than  32 years

The Age Relaxation in the upper age limit for reserved categories will be provided as per Government rules.

Minimum Educational Qualification

As we have explained earlier, there are different trades under SSC Junior Engineer Recruitment. Depending on the post you are applying, the corresponding minimum educational qualification for SSC JE Recruitment is as follows.

  • Junior Engineer (Civil), CPWD – B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical), CPWD – B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Junior Engineer (Civil), Department of Posts – B.E. / B.Tech. / 3 years Diploma in Civil engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical), Department of Posts- B.E. / B.Tech. / 3 years Diploma in Electrical engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Junior Engineer (Civil), MES – B.E. / B.Tech. in Civil Engineering OR 3 years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute and with 2 years work experience in civil engineering works.
  • Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical), MES – B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering OR 3 years Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute and with 2 years work experience in electrical/mechanical engineering works.
  • Junior Engineer (QS&C), MES – B.E. / B.Tech. / 3 years Diploma in Civil engineering from a recognized University/Institute OR Passed Intermediate examination in Building and Quantity Surveying (Sub Divisional-II) from the Institute of Surveyors (India).
  • Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical), Central Water Commission – B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.

The candidates applying for SSC JE Examination will have to make a payment of Rs. 100/- in they belong to General/ OBC category. However, any payment of SSC JE application fees is exempted for women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PHD and Ex. S. The application fees for SSC JE Examination can be done through both online and offline mode.
