SSC GD Constable Selection Procedure – Written, PE & MT 2016: Staff Selection Commission conducts the GD Constable exam every year to recruit the (General Duty) Constables in CRPF, CISF, BSF, ITBP, SSB, NIA, SSF and Rifleman in Assam Rifles. The official notification for the recruitment of 4669 Temporary Constable (Executive) in Delhi Police is out. Candidates can start applying for the post from the official website of SSC.

In this article, we will focusing on the basic physical standards set by SSC and the entire SSC GD Constable Selection Procedure for the year 2016.

 

SSC GD Constable Selection Procedure 2016

The SSC GD Constable Recruitment Exam comprises of three stages:

  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Medical Test (MT)
  • Written Examination

SSC will conduct written examination of candidates qualified in PE/MT in both online and offline mode. Now, let’s focus on each of the stages of SSC GD Constable Selection Procedure in a detailed manner.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The physical efficiency test will be qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks. Candidates need to clear this stage in order to move further in the selection processThere are certain prescribed standards for physical fitness that the candidate needs to excel in to clear PET. First of all, you need to have the prescribed measurements to be eligible for the test.

Chest Size

No chest size is prescribed for female candidates. For the PET, eligible candidates will have to perform well in a race of certain prescribed kilometers in a given time.

  • For Male Candidates: 5 Km in 24 minutes
  • For Female Candidates: 1.6 Km in 8 minutes

For Candidates of Ladakh Region:

  • For Male Candidates: 1.6 Km or 1 Mile in 6 minutes
  • For Female Candidates: 800 meter in 4 minutes

 

Medical Test (MT)

All the candidates who qualify in Physical Efficiency Test are tested to be medically fit for the position.

For Eye Sight:

Candidates Must Not Have:

  • Knock knee
  • Flat Foot
  • Varicose Vein
  • Squint in Eyes

All those found fit in the eye test have to undergo X-Ray, Blood Tests etc. as per the guidelines of SSC.

Once you clear these physical hurdles, you have to appear for the written examination conducted in both online and offline mode.

Written Examination 

All those who qualify the physical efficiency test must appear for the written examination. There are four subjects that add up to a total of 100 marks.

The written test is objective type in nature. The total time to solve the paper is 2 hours. The Online Exam will be set in both English & Hindi languages. Offline examination will be in English, Hindi and other Regional Languages.
