Here, we will talk about the type of problems and the level of difficulty faced by candidates while solving them.

  1. Due to the difference in the syllabus of each exam, one cannot compare the level of questions asked in Quantitative Aptitude Section of SSC CGL Tier 1, SBI PO and IBPS PO.
  2. In IBPS PO and SSC CGL Examination, problems based on Quantitative Aptitude are mostly around Arithmetic Abilities. However, in the case of SBI PO, most questions are based on Data Analysis and Data Interpretation, like Tables, Charts, Graphs, Reports etc. with little to no emphasis on Arithmetic Abilities.

The reason behind such an exam pattern for SBI PO is – A bank executive has to deal with large volume of data on a daily basis. He/ She needs to possess the ability to Read, Interpret, Analyse, Consolidate, and Summarise large volumes of data in the form of Reports, Tables, Charts, and Graphs.

Hence, SBI PO Examination emphasizes more on Data Interpretation and Data Analysis. However, you can still expect a few questions on Arithmetic Abilities in SBI PO Recruitment Examination.

  • Practice questions based on the concepts of Trigonometry and Geometry. They might appear in SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam (Tier 1) more than other topics.
  • Since quantitative aptitude has equal weightage among 4 sections, dedicate time to other sections too.
  • Even though you might find questions easy to solve, try not to over-attempt as there are a few tricky ones embedded which may lead to losing valuable marks.

One Similar aspect shared by IBPS PO, SBI PO and SSC CGL is – in each written exam, there are always a few questions which are lengthy and time-consuming. The best exam strategy for such questions would be to skip as each question carries same marks.
