RBI Grade B 2016: The Bankers of all Banks i.e, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has finally  released the official notification for RBI Grade B Officer Recruitment 2016 ahead of schedule. The Online Recruitment Examination for the post of Grade B Officer will be conducted in the month of September. Read this article to get complete information regarding RBI Grade B 2016 Recruitment Notification, Eligibility Criteria, Selection Procedure, New Exam Pattern and Application Procedure for RBI Grade B Officer 2016.

RBI Grade B 2016: Vacancy Details

The detailed list of vacancy as per the official RBI Grade B Official Notification is as follows:

Note: Out of 163. vacancies mentioned above, 6 vacancies are reserved for candidates belonging to Persons with Disability (PWD) category – 2 vacancies for Visually Handicapped (VH) and 4 vacancies for Hearing Impaired (HI). Persons with Disability may belong to any category – GEN/SC/ST/OBC.

RBI Grade B 2016: Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria for RBI Grade B 2016 consists of a set of requirements and clauses in terms of Age, Educational Qualification and Nationality. Let us have a look at it and see if we are eligible to appear for RBI Grade B Officer Recruitment Examination 2016.

Nationality: As per RBI directives, the Nationality of the candidate must be an Indian.

Age Limit: Age (as on 01/07/2016): Between 21 and 30 years (candidates must have been born not earlier than 02/07/1986 and not later than 01/07/1995). For candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification, upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years respectively.

The relaxation in the upper age limit has been applied according to government norms. They are as follows

  • SC/ ST: 5 Years
  • OBC: 3 Years
  • PH: 10 Years
  • PH + OBC: 13 Years
  • PH + SC/ST: 15 Years

Minimum Educational Qualification: A minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and 10th standard examinations. The minimum qualifying percentage or an equivalent grade for the Bachelor’s Degree will be in aggregate for all semesters / years.

Maximum Attempts: Candidates belonging to unreserved i.e. General Category, who had already appeared Six times for Phase-I Examination for this post in the past, are not eligible to apply. No such restriction applies to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD, if the posts are reserved for them.

RBI Grade B 2016: Selection Procedure

The Selection Procedure for recruiting RBI Grade B Officers through IBPS Recruitment Examination is still the same i.e. 3-Tier Selection Process.

  • Tier 1: RBI Grade B Phase I Examination
  • Tier 2: RBI Grade B Phase II  Examination
  • Tier 3: Interview

A candidate needs to qualify at each level in order to move to the next one. There has been a little change in RBI Grade B Phase II Exam Pattern. Please read below for that.

Tier I: RBI Grade B Phase I 2016

The RBI Grade B Phase I Examination is an Objective MCQ based paper with 4 sections – Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language.

Some of the essential details related to RBI Grade B Phase I Examination 2016 are as follows.

  • The total number of questions will be 200.
  • The Paper mode will be English/ Hindi.
  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • The total time to solve the entire paper is 120 minutes.
  • There will be sectional and overall cutoff.

The  marks secured in Phase I Examination will be considered while making the Final Merit List. Hence , a candidate needs to score well in order to move to next level, which is RBI Grade B Phase II Examination 2016

Tier II: RBI Grade B Phase II Examination 2016

The pattern of Phase II Examination will be two paper that are Objective MCQ based and one English Paper that will be Descriptive in nature. There will be 3 Paper – Economic & Social Issues, English language & Finance Management.

Now, talking about the major exam pattern change in RBI Grade B Phase II Examination, Choice in the Paper III is no more available. So, the candidates need to attempt the Finance Management as per time allotted to each section.

Tier III: Interview

The candidates who are shortlisted on the basis on their performance in RBI Grade B Phase II Examination will be called for the final round i.e. Interview. The Final Merit List will be based on the scores secured in Phase I, Phase II and Interview Round.

  1. Sir, my percentage of 10th class is 54.6,and 12th is 56.4 and graduation or post graduation is 53% and also I have done 2year diploma in pgdca with 71% in govt polytechnic.then plzzzz tell me sir can I apply for rbi officer grade b.

  2. Sir can u explain eligibility criteria it aggregate of class 10 +12 +3 or aggregate and in graduation 60% .
    For example if a person has 65 % in 10 th ,then 78 % in class 12 and 42% in graduation the aggregate is above 60 %,so is he eligible ?or in graduation u must have 60% .
