According the official notification published by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDA), the total number of job vacancies under the post of IRDA Junior Officer are 24.

The Junior Officer posts can be divided on the basis of specialization. There are 4 broad categories for IRDA Junior Officer namely, Actuarial, Accounting, Legal and General. We have listed the total number of vacancies according to post specialization and category of the candidate.

IRDA Junior Officer Recruitment Exam 2016: Eligibility Criteria

In this section, we will enlist the eligibility criteria for IRDA Jr. Officer Exam 2016 in terms of age limit and educational qualification.

 

Age Limit

According to IRDA Notification, the age limit set for Jr. Officer is 21 to 35 years as on 1 January 2016. The relaxation in age limit set for candidates falling in SC, ST, OBC and PWD categories are as follows.

  • SC/ ST – 5 years
  • OBC – 3 years
  • PWD – 10 years

These age relaxation on age limits is set as per IRDA guidelines.

 

Educational Qualification

The minimum educational qualification required for IRDA Junior Officer Exam 2016 depend on the specialization you opt for.

IRDA Junior Officer (Actuarial) 

  • Bachelors Degree with min. 60% overall from a recognized institute or equivalent.
  • The candidate must also be qualified in all 9 papers of Institute of Actuaries.

IRDA Junior Officer (Accounting) 

  • Bachelors Degree with min. 60% overall from a recognized institute or equivalent.
  • ACA or AICWA or ACS Qualified.

IRDA Junior Officer (Legal) 

  • Bachelors Degree with min. 60% overall from a recognized institute or equivalent.
  • Bachelors of Law (LLB) with min 60%.

OR

  • 5 year integrated LLB Course with min. 60% overall from a recognized institute or equivalent.

IRDA Junior Officer (General) 

  • Bachelors Degree with min. 60% overall from a recognized institute or equivalent.

The candidates which fulfil both age limit and qualification criteria, they will be eligible for submitting their application online for IRDA Junior Officer Recruitment Exam 2016.

Selection Process

The Selection Process of IRDA Junior Officer Recruitment 2016 is completed in 3 Phases.

  • Phase I – Objective Test (Qualifying in Nature)
  • Phase II – Descriptive Test

The application process is online. The application fee set for IRDA Junior Officer Exam is as follows

  • Rs 500/- (for General Candidates)
  • Rs 100/- (for SC/ ST/ PWD/ Ex-Servicemen)

The payment can be made through Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards and Mobile Wallets. Before you begin the application process, make sure you have scanned copies of your photograph and signature in your system.
